This statement describes which personal data we collect, for what purpose and on what legal basis.

2. Access data and hosting
When this website is accessed, technical access data are collected that your browser automatically transmits: IP address (anonymised), date and time of the request, content of the request, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL.
These data are processed in anonymised form and are not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable operation of the website).
Hosting provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR concluded.
3. Cookies and local storage
This website uses:
- Necessary cookies for language preference (stored for one year)
- No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies
4. Contact forms
When using our contact forms (press contact, manuscripts, book trade, general enquiry), we process the data you provide solely to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiation of contract) or Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent).
Deletion: requests are stored for six months after handling, then deleted. Manuscript submissions are deleted after eight weeks if rejected.
5. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address for sending on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Sent via Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France); a data processing agreement is in place.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every newsletter or by emailing info@whitesides-publishing.com.
6. Manuscript submissions
When submitting a manuscript, we process your contact data and the works you submit solely for evaluation. Stored in Cloudflare R2 (EU region, Frankfurt). If rejected, data are deleted after eight weeks; if a contract is concluded, retention follows the publishing contract.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
