We publish books you will not be able to get out of your head. Non-fiction with a stance, written for readers who prefer arguments over opinions. Whitesides is a new publisher with an old standard: that books should remain tools of understanding, not tools of marketing.
What we publish
Non-fiction on economics, technology, society. With a voice of its own, a clear stance, careful editing. We publish few titles per year because we spend more time on each than is common today. A book deserves time. From the writing, from the editing, from the reading.
What does not interest us: advice-book inflation, attention acrobatics, trend chasing. What interests us: arguments that still hold up three years later.
Who we are
Whitesides Publishers is an independent non-fiction publisher founded in Berlin in 2026. We believe the book is a format with a future, especially at a time when everything else gets shorter, faster, louder. Writing a book takes time. Reading one gives time back. That exchange is our foundation.
How we work
We choose few titles. We edit them with care. We produce in France at Pulsioprint, print paperbacks at Books on Demand in Norderstedt, record audiobooks ourselves. We do not make hardcovers because they look impressive. We make them because our authors write books that deserve the form.
Each of our books is published in five editions: Hardcover Standard, Hardcover Limited Edition (signed, numbered, 500 copies), Paperback, eBook, and Audiobook. The Limited Edition is exclusively available through the respective book websites, with coloured book edges and a bonus insert.
What sets us apart
Three things: We say no to manuscripts chasing trends. We talk to our authors as peers, not from above. And we treat readers as people deserving an argument, not as a target group.
